Fosterplus Finalists at the Children and Young People Awards 2024
Fosterplus are proud to be a finalist in two categories at this year's prestigious Children and Young People Awards.
The Children and Young People Awards, hosted by Care Talk magazine, celebrate excellence in all care services for children and families.
The awards are held annually and recognise the achievements of both individuals and organisations, across the children's care sector, who excel in the service they provide and the difference they are making to children and young people.
Among the impressive list of finalists are the Fosterplus South team, and Social Worker Sue Anderson, who is based in the Midlands and South Yorkshire region.
The Fostering & Adoption Award
We are proud to share that our wonderful team at Fosterplus South are finalists for the Fostering and Adoption Award this year. This award gets presented to an exceptional fostering and/or adoption provider that goes above and beyond in striving to find families for children who are in need.
As well as dedication and innovation within the service, there should be evidence of a creative approach to overcoming difficulties an exceptional approach to supporting children and families.
The team at Fosterplus South are extremely hard working and go above and beyond in ensuring that children and families they work with are fully supported, listened to and valued, and helped to reach their full potential.
At their recent inspection, where they were awarded 'Outstanding', Ofsted described the support Fosterplus South provide as 'exceptional', stating that “the level of individualised support and care to children is outstanding. As a result, the outcomes for children living with carers in this agency are excellent. The children are achieving their dreams and making exceptional progress”.
A huge well done to the team for being nominated as finalists and, once again, recognised for their incredible work.
The Children & Families Social Worker Award
Sue Anderson, Supervising Social Worker based in Coventry, has been nominated for the Social Worker award. The award is presented to an individual who exemplifies the profession of social work with children and families. It recognises those who display motivation, resilience, empathy and leadership, and someone who is a truly inspirational individual and a model for the profession.
Sue has been working in social care since 1990 and joined Fosterplus almost two years ago. She is the epitome of an incredible social worker. Her energy and commitment to her role are unparalleled; she advocates for all children, even those not directly under her care, and continually ensures foster parents and young people feel heard and validated, while extending this respect and care to the entire family.
We are incredibly proud of Sue for being shortlisted as a finalist in this category, and are grateful for the difference she is making in the lives of foster children and young people.
